1979 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 Dino Metallic Blue - For Sale - One of the Finest Examples Available - Pricing varies with options. The car is shown in the photos with the optional 16" Chromodora wheels and X-ost Exhaust System. These items are available at extra cost.

Note: The following statement has been written by the current owner of this exceptional car.

This is a unique opportunity to own a wonderful driving, beautifully painted, 15,300 mile GT4 that has the benefit of those low miles while at the same time having been fully sorted over the last 2 years with over 16k in recent work. This car has been driven on a regular basis over the last years and is now in as close to perfect condition as the seller has seen on any other GT4. It is believed to be one of the finer examples of a low mileage GT4 in the US.

I won’t go on and on about GT4’s as you are looking for this car because you know it is the best Ferrari value available when considering performance, handling, beauty (yes not everyone agrees) and practicality. And it’s at an amazing price point. You might even like (like I do) the looks and that you can put an adult or a few kids in the back seat.

I will do my best to give you everything you need to know to buy this car and be happy and informed with the purchase. I have a perfect 100% rating over the last 9 years on eBay and intend to keep it that way. I have included not only my input but that of the mechanic who has worked extensively on this car.


Options and Pricing:
Base price includes
- Original 14” Campagnola wheels and new Kumo radials
- Original exhaust

Add $1,000 for:
- Speedline 16” wheels with BF Goodrich G-Force Tires

Add $2,000 for:
- T. Rutland’s (new) repro Chromodora 16” wheels with new BF Goodrich G-Force tires. These wheels fit perfect without spacers and are seen in the pictures

Add $2,500 for:
- X-Ost (Italian made) exhaust system (as shown on car) (Black louver valance that covers exhaust)


Condition

Performance
– Car accelerates extremely well, starts easy when cold, no smoke at start up or acceleration and handles like a GT4 should…awesome. Car is tight and drives like it should for a car with 15k miles. No rattles or anything loose feeling to get in the way of the unique Ferrari sound.
– Tranny shifts as you would expect with smooth quiet shifts. As precise as any GT4
– Car handles exceedingly well, tight and exact.

History (this information is to the best of my knowledge)
- Bought in TX - owner #1
- Owner #2 was Richard Diasio in Indiana. Owns Diasio Cars (make Mazda based race cars....you often see Diasio 962's advertised in R&T)
- 1995 – Service record with serial number noted and mileage at 9,182
- During 1995 service records show complete bare metal repaint and two services
- 2000 – Mileage at 10,807 full service-belts, tensioners, shocks etc.
- 2003 – mileage receipt for 12,052
- Diasio moved the car to Florida. Stored, never received FL tags
- Soon to be 3rd owner, John Feeney, asks that car is taken out of storage and for it to be driven 500 miles pre-PPI. This suggestion is by Tim Stanford, an excellent Florida area vintage Ferrari mechanic
- Stanford inspects and recommends a few repairs to be done by new owner. Compression is 170-175 in all cylinders
- Car is moved to Denver and work completed by Denver’s finest vintage Ferrari mechanic Dave Helms at Scuderia rampante
- A total of $6,400 in repairs are completed over a year or so period including:
o Bearings, belt timing, water pump belts, rotors, calipers, etc.
- Car is sold to me, 14,700 miles. Since I am a wholesale dealer the car is not registered to me so I believe that there is only 3 registered owners
- Since I purchased the car I have done a total of an additional $5,705 of mechanical work:
o Cam belts again as one was a little lose and recommended by my esteemed local vintage Ferrari mechanic Larry Buskirk
o Steering rack was rebuilt and replaced
o Rebuilt distributors, plugs, filter and a complete retune of the carburetors.
o All fluids changed, bulbs replaced as needed

Paint
– Excellent condition and near perfect. This GT4 underwent a bare metal paint within the last 10 years and I recently had it color sanded by Cullen Wetmore of Diamond Car Care who is known for prepping award winning cars at Pebble Beach and other events. The paint has beautiful luster and a deep finish. The color was ‘code’ matched from the original Dino Metallic Blue although the color appears slightly richer and darker due to modern paints. The only thing to point out is that there are a couple of lower door, outside, small rust bubbles that have been there and not gotten worse since they were noted over years ago. These are minor and overall this as nice as any paint I have seen on any GT4

Interior
– All original, again near perfect, with a few panels re-dyed to perfection and some original (which I will have re-dyed if the new buyer wants at my expense). All of the gauges work and the glass is crystal clear. Clock is always on time. Everything works including the air-conditioning.
